Dear Dr. Abe Lucabaugh,
We, the undersigned concerned parents, students, and community members are writing to urge you to take immediate action to remove graphic sexualized books from the Central Bucks School District that violate federal law, including Section 1470 of Title 18, United States Code and 18 U.S.C. § 1466A.
We believe that the availability of these books in our schools is unacceptable and violates the trust that parents have placed in the school district to provide a safe and appropriate learning environment for our children. As the superintendent of the Central Bucks School District, we urge you to follow Policy 109.2 and take swift action to remove any books that are in violation of federal law.
The transfer of the obscene matter to a minor under the age of 16 using any means of interstate or foreign commerce is a federal offense, and convicted offenders face fines and imprisonment for up to 10 years. We believe that it is the responsibility of the school district to ensure that our children are not exposed to harmful and inappropriate materials.
